Updated: Sep 8, 2021

Do you have a design in mind for your blog? Whether you prefer a trendy postcard look or you’re going for a more editorial style blog - there’s a stunning layout for everyone.

Creating a Happy State of Mind

What is a state of mind: a state of mind is a temporary psychological state, the emotional and intellectual content of our mind at a precise moment.

“Happiness is a state of mind” Quotes

“Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be.” Abraham Lincoln

“Happiness is not a possession to be prized, it is a quality of thought, a state of mind.” Daphne du Maurier

“Happiness, true happiness, is an inner quality. It is a state of mind. If your mind is at peace, you are happy. If your mind is at peace, but you have nothing else, you can be happy. If you have everything the world can give – pleasure, possessions, power – but lack peace of mind, you can never be happy.” Dada Vaswani

“There is one thing in this good old world that is positively sure – happiness is for all who strive to be happy – and those who laugh are happy. Everybody is eligible – you – me – the other fellow. Happiness is fundamentally a state of mind – not a state of body.” Douglas Fairbanks

“Happiness is a state of mind. It’s just according to the way you look at things.” Walt Disney Company

Happiness does not come from external things

We commonly look to external things like family and material possessions for our happiness. But these external things are not the true source of happiness. External things are not a reliable source of happiness because they do not last. We buy things to increase our happiness, but then they deteriorate, go out of fashion or lose their shine. What makes us happy today is never enough because our desires never cease. Relying on transient external objects only increases our dissatisfaction and our yearning for perfect happiness.

The mind is a terrible thing to waste is often said in a variety of cultures. However, the mind is only guided by the spirit when you listen to the voice of The Holy Spirit who teaches you “ALL” things.

Five Ways God Guides You

God designed you with a purpose in mind. God loves you. He has a specific, unique and glorious destiny for you. He promises to guide you.

God’s purpose for you is bigger than your mistakes. I have made many mistakes in my life, but God has not stopped guiding me.

We have a GPS in our car. When we take a wrong turn, it reroutes us. But it never gives up until we reach our destination. You can ignore it or switch it off, but if you follow it, it makes your journey more enjoyable and peaceful. Eventually, it will say ‘You have reached your destination.’

Of course, this is not a perfect analogy. God is not a machine but a person who is with us on the journey. God wants to communicate with you and has promised to guide you.

There are five main ways in which God guides us (the five scriptures or the five C's):

Commanding Scripture (the Bible)

Compelling Spirit (the Holy Spirit)

Counsel of the Saints (the church)

Common Sense (reason)

Circumstantial Signs (providence)

Please let the Lord guide you through your daily walk lead and guide you all the way.
